Ritsu (or Ricchan, as nicknamed by Yui) is the president of the light music club and plays a Yamaha Hipgig Drumset. She has an ambiguous yet upbeat personality, but often has trouble remembering important club activities and announcements, and gets constantly yelled at by Nodoka for forgetting to send in important forms. Ritsu is cheerful, often likes making jokes and is sarcastic most of the time. She usually brainstorms for ideas to earn more money and for the club's success. She says she chose to play the drums because they are "cool", but in reality, she admits that she has trouble playing instruments which involve intricate finger movements, such as the bass, guitar and keyboard. She is a childhood friend of Mio and will often tease her whenever she is cowering from something and has the opportunity to do so. Codename "Hei", the main protagonist, is an elite Contractor, with the Messier Code BK-201. Hei has a double persona in the series. In the general public he is referred to as Li Shengshun, a good-natured Chinese exchange student living in the Umitsuki apartments and occasionally working in his "part time job". He has short black hair and a large appetite.

Hei's other persona is that of the Contractor simply known as BK-201 by authorities or as "The Black Reaper" ("Kuro no Shinigami") by other Contractors. Even before becoming a Contractor. Hei worked as an assassin, earning his nickname. As Hei, he operates in a mask, a bullet resistant overcoat, and gear suiting a military operative.

Hei possesses the ability to generate and discharge electricity through conductive media (i.e. he cannot discharge it through air or concrete), at sufficiently high amounts to kill grown men or short out a building's electrical systems. It is later discovered his actual ability was inherited from his sister and it grants him the ability of molecular manipulation. This inheritance means that Hei doesn't have a remuneration unlike other contractors. Hei has the ability to manipulate/disrupt matter on the quantum level which can produce electricity as the mildest effect or alter gate particles as an extreme effect. His trademark weapon is a knife on a metal wire, which he uses as an offensive weapon, a grappling hook, or as a conduit through which to discharge his electricity.

Hei's mannerisms and behaviour are strange for the likes of a Contractor, whose mentality shouldn't be affected by normal feelings of compassion or sorrow. Hei acts upon these emotions regardless, making him somewhat enigmatic to Mao, Huang, and many of those he encounters. He displays a deep love for his sister, Bai, who disappeared during the events of South America and has been looking for her ever since. Hei also has a past history with the leader of the Evening Primrose and former Syndicate co-worker, Amber, of which the nature of their relationship is unclear. Hei is sometimes torn between whether he is a human or a contractor, seeing he has the emotions and feelings of a human, however has the abilities of a contractor. His feelings for Yin (his partner), is also unclear as it is hinted that he has deep feelings for her, despite that she is a Doll.

Le pareti delle montagne sono piene di caverne e tunnel scavati dai combattenti arabi e afghani ai tempo della guerriglia contro i sovietici negli anni Ottanta e rappresentano un rifugio ideale per i militanti.

"E' un'operazione congiunta tra forze statunitensi e afghane divise a seconda del tipo di armamenti", ha detto il capitano Vaness Bowman, portavoce della coalizione guidata dagli Stati Uniti. "Le forze afgane e statunitensi stanno combattendo contro al Qaeda e altri estremisti violenti nella regione orientale di Tora Bora", ha detto la portavoce aggiungendo che l'operazione era cominciata ieri.

"Al momento non ho notizie di alcuna vittima, ma sappiamo per certo che non ce ne sono state molte", ha detto Bowman.

Ghazni, Aug 03: South Korean officials scrambled Friday to free 21 aid workers held by Afghanistan's Taliban, who said they had been told their key demand for a release of captured fighters would be met.

With two other aid workers already shot dead and the rest under threat of death, Afghan provincial officials and the hardline Islamic militia said there were plans for a face-to-face meeting between the Taliban and a South Korean delegation.

That was not confirmed by the South Korean government, but Seoul -- backed by relatives of the hostages -- has repeatedly stated its stiff opposition to any attempt to free them by military action.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency, citing "informed sources," said that the Taliban had agreed to meet ambassador Kang Sung-Zu, although they had not yet agreed on a venue.

With most of the hostages sick, including two women reportedly in critical condition, the talks are likely to be held later Friday, the sources said.

Presidential spokesman Oh Young-Jin had no comment on the report

The abduction highlights growing insecurity in Afghanistan, one of the key battlegrounds in the US-led "war on terror", nearly six years after the United States led the invasion that toppled the Taliban government.

The crisis may overshadow Afghan President Hamid Karzai's summit Sunday and Monday with US President George W. Bush outside Washington.
